Fun and Performance All Round

Excitement, responsiveness and safety. Have it all with the new Calypso.

Have you ever felt like sailing away into the sunset? Or simply disappearing for a few hours from the crowded towns and cities of the UK? The new Gull Calypso is raring to go. As happy pottering up an inland creek for a picnic with the family, as day cruising or club racing, she's a true all rounder, easy to row and outboard.

Building on the proven pedigree of lan Proctor's classic design of 1956, she's been brought right up to date with the new Calypso, launched in 2006.

She's sensitive and responsive to the expert helm and crew, but caring and careful with the inexperienced. And she always looks after you, which is why she's a firm favourite with beginners.

Her simple flexible rig, comprising main and jib with roller reefing and traditional spinnaker, add to her all-round appeal. What's more, slab reefing means she's superb for single handed cruising.

All fun and no hassle

Take a look around the boat, and you'll discover improvements everywhere. There's a larger cockpit and aft stowage locker for picnics, sails and outboard. All of which makes maintenance minimal, meaning you and your family have more time to enjoy the boat herself.

The low-cost - lightweight trailer sailer

Because she's easily towed by small cars and launched by one person, there are no expensive mooring or marina fees. In fact, she's as happy at your club or in your back garden. And thanks to the improved design and build, you get a custom-made boat of exceptional quality and value, with negligible storage costs.

Safety first

The Gull has been tested and assessed by the Royal Yachting Association and Recreational Craft Inspector. It has been given Design Category "C" with a crew limit of between 1 and 4, in accordance with ISO 122 17-3. This category is considered to render it suitable for use in waves up to 2.0m significant height and a typical steady wind of Beaufort Force 6.

She also has optional masthead buoyancy.
